Drishyam: The Conclusion has finally arrived, bringing Vijay Salgaonkar back for what is being billed as the final chapter of the Hindi Drishyam franchise. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj.
The film released in theatres on October 2, 2026, and takes the story forward from the events of Drishyam 2. This time, Vijay is no longer simply trying to protect his family from an investigation. The people on the other side have become smarter, the pressure is greater and the old case gets a fresh lease of life.
So, does Drishyam The Conclusion actually deliver the ending the franchise deserves?

Here is our review.

Drishyam The Conclusion Review: Is It Worth Watching?
The biggest challenge for Drishyam The Conclusion was never going to be creating another investigation. The real challenge was finding a way to make audiences believe that Vijay Salgaonkar could still surprise them after two films of watching him stay several steps ahead of the police.
The film understands that problem and wastes little time getting into it.
Vijay and his family are still living with the consequences of what happened years earlier. The case may have appeared closed, but the emotional damage has never disappeared. Meera Deshmukh, played by Tabu, is still unable to move on from the death of her son Sam.
Her husband Mahesh Deshmukh eventually approaches a new police officer, Rajveer Singh Tomar, played by Jaideep Ahlawat. The investigation begins again, putting Vijay directly in the line of fire.
And this time, the police are not simply looking at the old evidence.
They are looking for a way to break Vijay’s entire story apart.
That gives the film a different kind of tension. The question is still the familiar Drishyam question: Will Vijay get caught?
But the more interesting question becomes:
How can Vijay possibly get out this time?

The Story Moves Faster Than Before
One of the noticeable changes in The Conclusion is its pace.
The film does not spend too much time rebuilding the world that audiences already know. Instead, it quickly establishes the new threat and moves towards the central conflict.
That works well for a third instalment because viewers already understand Vijay, his family and the history surrounding the case.
The result is a film that feels more like a cat-and-mouse thriller than a family drama.
That is both its strength and its weakness.
The faster pace keeps the suspense alive, but it also means the emotional side of Vijay’s family receives less attention than it did in the earlier films.
What Makes Drishyam The Conclusion Different?
The first two films worked because the crime was only one part of the story.
At its heart, Drishyam was about a father protecting his family.
Vijay was an ordinary man who suddenly had to think like a criminal mastermind. His obsession with movies and storytelling became his greatest weapon because he understood how people construct stories and, more importantly, how they believe them.
The Conclusion takes that idea further.
Vijay has now spent years living with his own story.
The lies have become part of his life.
The police know that he lied.
The Deshmukh family knows that he lied.
And Vijay knows that everyone is waiting for one mistake.
That creates an interesting psychological layer. The film is less about creating the perfect alibi from scratch and more about protecting a story that has already been told.
Drishyam The Conclusion Cast and Performances
Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar
Ajay Devgn remains the centre of the franchise.
Vijay is not a loud character. His biggest weapon has always been his ability to stay calm while everyone around him is losing control.
Devgn plays that restraint well.
His expressions do much of the work, particularly in scenes where Vijay knows that the person sitting opposite him is trying to expose him.
There is also a noticeable darkness to Vijay this time. He is no longer the same frightened family man from the first film. Years of protecting the secret have changed him.
That makes the character interesting even when the screenplay occasionally pushes his intelligence a little too far.

Jaideep Ahlawat as Rajveer Singh Tomar
Jaideep Ahlawat is one of the biggest additions to the film.
After Akshaye Khanna’s memorable role in Drishyam 2, the new investigation needed an officer who could create a different kind of threat.
Ahlawat brings confidence and intensity to Rajveer.
He does not simply behave like another police officer trying to solve the case. He feels like someone who enjoys the psychological battle with Vijay.
That makes their confrontation one of the film’s highlights.
Tabu as Meera Deshmukh
Tabu’s character has a more emotionally complicated role this time.
Meera is no longer simply searching for answers. Years of grief have pushed her towards anger and revenge.
That gives Tabu some strong moments, although the film could have given her character more space.
Shriya Saran and the Supporting Cast
Shriya Saran returns as Nandini Salgaonkar, while Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav reprise their roles as Vijay’s daughters.
Prakash Raj is another notable addition, bringing his own energy to the film.
Kamlesh Sawant’s Gaitonde also returns, providing some lighter moments in a story that otherwise becomes increasingly tense.
Drishyam The Conclusion Story: What Happens?
Without revealing every twist, the story begins with Vijay and his family attempting to move forward after the events of Drishyam 2.
But the past refuses to stay buried.
Meera’s emotional state deteriorates, and Mahesh decides that reopening the case may finally give her the closure she needs.
This brings Rajveer Singh Tomar into the picture.
Unlike the officers Vijay has faced before, Rajveer approaches the case with a fresh perspective. He knows that simply proving Vijay is lying will not be enough.
He needs evidence.
He needs witnesses.
And most importantly, he needs to understand the way Vijay thinks.
The investigation gradually becomes a battle of planning.
Vijay builds one side of the story.
Rajveer tries to dismantle it.
Every new piece of evidence changes the situation, forcing Vijay to rethink his strategy.
That is where the film gets its classic Drishyam energy back.
Drishyam The Conclusion Ending Explained
Spoilers ahead.
The ending is built around the franchise’s central idea: Vijay survives because he understands that solving a case is not always about knowing the truth. It is about proving the truth.
The investigation creates serious problems for Vijay, and for a while it appears that the years of planning may finally collapse.
The film deliberately makes the audience question whether Vijay has finally gone too far.
But Vijay has one advantage that his opponents continue to underestimate.
He knows how people think.
The final stretch brings together the investigation, the evidence and Vijay’s ability to manipulate the narrative around him. The climax reveals how the different pieces of the puzzle fit together and provides closure to the central mystery that has followed the franchise.
What makes the ending work is that it does not simply repeat the exact trick from the previous films.
Instead, it tries t
